Posted Leave a commentPosted in Architecture, BLOG, clients, PIERI ARCHITECTS

To all of our clients, partners, and friends:
I am writing today to inform you that the Pieri Architects team will be working remotely from our homes during the two-week public health curfew executed by the Government of Puerto Rico to curb the spread of the Covid-19 virus. We will be able to perform most normal work functions through our cloud-based work platform, and as always, we can be reached by e-mail or phone.
From March 16 through March 30, 2020, we will reschedule or coordinate face-to-face meetings and conference calls. I will be reaching out to you to coordinate our efforts during the next two weeks.
We share in the optimism that the two-week curfew will enable a significant reduction in the severity of the Covid-19 outbreak in Puerto Rico and safeguard our individual and collective well-being.
We wish you and yours good health.

Best Regards,
Vincent Pieri, AIA NCARB LEED AP
Principal and Founder

PIERI ARCHITECTS PROJECTS: Sartorius Stedim Campus Expansion in Yauco, Puerto Rico Under Construction

Posted Posted in BLOG, PIERI ARCHITECTS, Work

The Expansion of the Sartorius Stedim Biotech Campus facilities designed by Pieri Architects is under construction and is set to be complete by July 2018. The 320,000 SF Expansion is part of a 40-acre campus Master Plan that includes a 540-car employee surface parking area that uses open-grid paving, a 240,000SF FMT Operations Expansion, and an 80,000 SF FT Membrane and Casting manufacturing facility. The site landscaping plan will plant over 1,200 trees to mitigate the trees lost during construction. The buildings, systems, and site are designed to meet all LEED standards. For more information on the design of this project, you can access our page:    Sartorius Stedim Campus Expansion

The sustainable design challenge for this project was to apply the strategies, standards, and metrics used to achieve a LEED Platinum certification for the adjacent Sartorius Stedim ECO facility completed in 2012 and  designed by PIERI ARCHITECTS.  The ECO building was the first biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility to achieve a LEED Platinum-certification. Our Team serving the community

After Hurricane Maria, Our Team worked diligently to clean-up and re-establish a normal work-flow and routine under these difficult circumstances, each contributing to the recovery effort helping our communities, families, and friends. The PIERI ARCHITECTS Team partnered with the AIA Puerto Rico Chapter to assist the Puerto Rico Department of Education in safety assessment evaluation to guarantee the safety occupancy of students in our schools. This was possible thanks to the AIA which conducted a Safety Assessment Program (SAP) training where five PIERI ARCHITECTS Team members participated and obtained a certification. I am very proud of our incredible team and their continuing efforts to speed Puerto Rico’s recovery during these challenging times.

To our Clients and Friends:

A quick note to inform that thankfully the PIERI ARCHITECTS team and our families are safe and sound and that our San Juan office sustained minimal damages from Hurricane Maria. Our Team worked diligently to clean-up and re-establish a normal work-flow and routine under these difficult circumstances and now our firm is open for business. We are organizing and getting up to speed on our current projects, and re-establishing connections with you, our clients. I am truly grateful for the efforts of our incredible team for pitching in to get things going again.

Like many of you, we are dependent on generator electricity so for the moment, our office hours are from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. Our phone and internet connections are functional; please feel free to contact us by telephone at 787-720-0341, or by e-mail at info@pieriarchitects.com. We hope that all our clients and friends in Puerto Rico are also safe and working to restore their home, lives, and businesses. We look forward to working together with you to build an economically vibrant, sustainable and resilient future for our island home!

Wishing you the Best in Trying Times!
